(same as "A Psalm of Life"). The objective here is for you to be closely familiar with these texts by being attentive in class as they are being discussed, taking notes (annotating), thoughtfully responding to review questions, and then reviewing.

The purpose of writing about "Self-Reliance" is to make yourself more familiar with Emerson's ideas.  Through writing we are more thoroughly processing the ideas. You are explaining Emerson's ideas in your words.  Please study your notes on the esssay.  There will be a quiz tomorrow.  STUDY.
