The Great Gatsby -- Chapter 6 Questions

Please get your netbook when you arrive.  Log in and then give me your attention.  Put your personal electronic devices completely away.

*Regarding the Cadillac ad from yesterday (especially since it has direct relevance to the chapter we just read in The Great Gatsby):

Please copy the following questions into your English Journal and complete by the end of the period:

CHAPTER 6 QUESTIONS

1.  What is Gatsby's real history?  Where is he from and what is his name?
2.  What idea did Gatsby have about himself?
3.  Why did Gatsby drop out of college?
4.  What did Dan Cody do for Gatsby?  What is Dan Cody's significance to Gatsby?
5.  What is the significance of the scene with the Sloane's and Tom who stop by Gatsby's for a drink?
6.  What is Daisy's opinion of Gatsby's party?  How does this affect him?
7.  What does Gatsby want from Daisy?
8.  Record a line from the last two pages of Chapter 6 that is especially meaningful.  Explain its meaning/significance. 
9.  Record another line that caught your attention.
10. Record another line that caught your attention. 


HOMEWORK:  Your one book review is due by April 25th.  Study the vocabulary to The Great Gatsby.
